Parents as Partners in the EYFS

Research shows that where parents play a key part in educating their child, identify learning and development needs and provide appropriate development, then this will enhance the learning and development the child undertakes at the nursery.

In summary, to work in partnership with parents, Smilers Nursery will:

  • Acknowledge parents as a child’s first and most enduring educators
  • Assign a key worker to each child who will work to form a warm, trusting, respectful relationship with that child and their family
  • Work with parents to enhance learning and development
  • Establish an ongoing dialogue with parents, share information, take account of parents’ own observations of their child and support learning in the home
What do our parents say
  •

Both of my children have attended Smilers Park House from a very young age. My son and daughter joined the nursery from a young age of 10 months. Over the past 3 years I have been so impressed and mesmerised with my children’s development. My children look forward to their play days at nursery and return home with enthusiasm and smiles. As a new mum, I felt so relaxed and safe to leave both my children in the care of such wonderful, caring and academically astute staff. I would recommend Smilers to everyone especially new young mums who are feeling anxious to leave their kids with strangers for the first time. read more
